PhD Student

Craig obtained both his BSc (2019) and MSc (2021) in Kinesiology from the University of Lethbridge where he began his research in piano performance biomechanics. Since Fall 2021, he has continued this line of research as a PhD candidate in Kinesiology under the supervision of Dr. Felipe Verdugo and co-supervision of Dr. Mickael Begon in the piano biomechanics laboratory in the S2M lab at the Université de Montréal. His PhD thesis involves biomechanical and ergonomic investigations of pianists’ upper-body kinematics and risk of musculoskeletal injury, and is funded by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) and the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Nature et technologies (FRQNT). Craig’s research in the S2M lab has been featured on Radio-Canada as well as in UdeM Nouvelles.
